Snow Day!

Happy Snow Day!

Snow Day!

I woke up this morning at 5am to take my daughter to our church as her youth group had a day trip to West Edmonton Mall only to get there and find out it was canceled due to the horrible highway conditions (good idea!). So I came back home by 6:30am and thought "hey, this is a perfect day to sew up my Mexico dress!".

We are heading down to Mexico in a few months for a family wedding (and much deserved break) and although I have about 3 or 4 great dresses in my closet for such an occasion, I decided it was necessary to make yet another! So I am making this New Look pattern here (View A):

Of course as with all these Big 4 patterns I had to make a ton of modifications (which I will highlight in my review later), so 2 muslins later, I am ready to begin the first 'wearable' muslin. I am making it out of a medium weight stretch satin in a delicious tangerine orange color! I love it!

Yummy Tangerine Orange satin

I should hopefully start and finish today (given the fact that I am trapped in my house thanks to mother nature) so stay tuned for a review coming soon!

Hey i posted this comment last tusday ...... Hey firstly i really like your page :) But my real reason for commenting is that ive been searching the web, for an hour now, trying to find a copy of the instructions for this pattern from Newlook- the one you made- its driving me crazy as i need them for my coursework and i have lost them. My deadline is in a few days and i cannot find them with any of my pattern pieces or my folder work. It is impossible to express my need for them and so i was wondering if you could please e-mail me a copy of them ? i would be so greatful ! Many thanks, Charlotte- the Stressed Student. charlotte - DESPERATE GCSE student from nottingham ! A Fresh New Look Coming Soon

Posted On:  January 26, 2011

I was doing some reflecting on my site over the past few weeks and there were a couple things I noticed. 1) I usually start all my blog posts with an apology for not posting often enough and 2) my site is really in need of a fresh new face!

So I'm working on a new site (okay my husband is, not me... but I'm driving the effort) and I'm going to set aside time to blog no less than once a week. There is a lot to blog about - I've made 27 articles of clothing that I have not yet reviewed on my site!! That's a lot! I owe it to those of you who still look at my old reviews and beg for more!

So If you haven't already given up on me, thank you! I promise to make my site more active and ever changing going forward.

Oh and one last exciting piece of news is that I have decided to start offering sewing lessons out of my home studio to guage interest for a possible future business endeavour. We'll see how that turns out!

Cheers and Happy Stitching!!
