About Me
I am a happily married full time working mom of 2 beautiful daughters and 1 naughty dog! I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada where, the mountains are a stones throw away and regardless of the season, the sun shines most of the time (and I love that). |

I’ve been sewing since as far back as I can remember. I started like most, sewing Barbie clothes out of material scraps from my mothers sewing room trash bin. Although I learned a lot from my mom, most of what I know now is self-taught through literature and trial & error over the last 10 years. I currently have 3 machines: A manual Brother that I have packed away in hopes that one of my daughters will continue on with this dying art, a digital Kenmore Elite and a Singer serger. I have my eye on a Janome top stitch machine which I hope to have before the end of Q1, ‘08! |
Although I’ve been sewing for about 20 years now, I’ve never really learned to ‘fit’ a pattern properly until recently (thanks to PR and all the great tips & feedback on their message boards and reviews). My goal is to push myself further down that path and learn to perfect the fit of patterns as well as start using more couture techniques in my sewing. My dream is to one day be asked by one of my daughters to sew their wedding dress. The Deb Thompson Collection is not my own but a collection of the things that I have made and am proud of. One day I hope to have enough knowledge to start designing my own clothing but for now, knocking off such greats as Donna Karen, Michael Kors & Channel will do. |
